Cookies in the Shopify App

When you install BlackBox Attribution on your Shopify store, we use cookies for:

App Authentication

  • Session cookies to keep you logged in
  • OAuth tokens (encrypted) for Shopify API access
  • Required for app functionality

Attribution Tracking (Your Store Visitors)

Our Web Pixel Extension places cookies on your store visitors' browsers to track:

Visitor ID cookie: Anonymous identifier to track their journey

UTM parameters: Marketing campaign data

Referrer data: Which site they came from

Important:

These cookies track ANONYMOUS visitors until they make a purchase. We do NOT collect personal information (names, emails, addresses) from these cookies.

Duration: Visitor ID cookies last up to 30 days or until checkout, whichever comes first.
